ZZP pensioen: hoe kun je zelf pensioen opbouwen?
Nog geen ZZP pensioen, maar wel benieuwd naar de mogelijkheden daarvoor? ZZP’ers worden zich er steeds beter van bewust dat ze zelf voor een pensioenregeling zullen moeten zorgen. Want, anders dan voor werknemers is loondienst geldt daarvoor geen verplichte regeling.
Dat biedt vrijheid, maar vraagt aan de andere kant ook om verantwoordelijkheid. Zelfstandigen dienen zelfstandig na te denken over de manier waarop ze zelf pensioen gaan opbouwen. Om te voorkomen dat er later niets beschikbaar is, naast de AOW-uitkering waar iedereen in Nederland recht op heeft.
Tip: een goed pensioen bestaat uit de AOW, met daarnaast een eigen pensioen. Voor werknemers opgebouwd bij de werkgever, dus als ZZP’er is het belangrijk om daar zelf een regeling voor te kiezen.
Geen pensioenregeling voor ZZP’ers
Er bestaat (nog) geen verplichte pensioenregeling voor ZZP’ers. Dat vinden veel zelfstandigen prettig, maar brengt aan de andere kant ook een verantwoordelijkheid met zich mee. Je dient er als zelfstandige voor te zorgen dat je zelf pensioen opbouwt.
Dat kan op een paar verschillende manieren, binnen de jaarruimte die je hebt. Het is een maximumbedrag dat je bij de Belastingdienst kunt berekenen, om na te gaan wat je maximaal per jaar aan pensioen mag opbouwen.
Redenen opgegeven door zzp’ers waarom ze nog geen pensioenvoorziening hebben.
Mag opbouwen, inderdaad. Het opbouwen van pensioen is een methode om fiscaal aantrekkelijk te sparen voor later. Door als ZZP’er nu geld opzij te zetten in een pensioenregeling bouw je pensioen op voor later. Je betaalt daar pas inkomstenbelasting over op het moment dat je er gebruik van wilt maken, als je met pensioen bent. Ondertussen mag je het bedrag nu belastingvrij sparen. Los van de heffingen in box 3. En beter nog, het bedrag aan pensioeninleg gaat in mindering op je inkomen, waardoor je er ook in box 1 geen inkomstenbelasting over betaalt.
Pensioenverzekering of banksparen
Indien je een ZZP pensioen wilt opbouwen heb je een paar verschillende mogelijkheden. De meest bekende zijn:
- Een pensioenverzekering
Goed vergelijkbaar met het pensioen zoals werknemers in loondienst die opbouwen. Je betaalt een bepaalde premie per maand, in ruil waarvoor je vanaf de pensioengerechtigde leeftijd kunt rekenen op een pensioen. - Banksparen
Een alternatieve en vrij nieuwe vorm van het ZZP pensioen. Zonder verzekering, maar op basis van bedragen die je inlegt op een geblokkeerde spaarrekening. Die vanaf de pensioengerechtigde leeftijd de kans biedt om een pensioen aan te kopen en dat uit te laten keren.

Het is verstandig om de mogelijkheden om zelf pensioen op te bouwen op een rij te zetten. Daarmee zorg je ervoor dat je goed op de hoogte bent van de financiële mogelijkheden. En onze tip? Begin er zo vroeg mogelijk mee, zodat je inleg kans heeft om goed te renderen. Dat levert uiteindelijk het hoogst mogelijke ZZP pensioen op voor een zo laag mogelijke inleg.
